Overview

One of the most phenomenal growth industries of recent years has been the explosion in SMS text messaging as any parent of teenagers will know. Now this new exciting method of communication is available to the estate agent using Aspasia.

Send out bulk SMS text messages after doing an applicant/property match or simply send out individual messages to anyone in your database who has a mobile phone. All without touching a telephone keypad! It is so easy and much cheaper than using conventional mail.

Can I exclude certain customers from SMS?

Yes, although it is technically possible to send an SMS message to any mobile phone, any record in Aspasia can be modified to exclude that person from receiving text messages. It is certainly true that whilst everyone with a mobile phone can receive messages, not everyone wants to!

Is the content of any message recorded in the database?

Just like a letter sent from Aspasia, an SMS text message has it's content recorded in the database as well as an indication that the message has been sent, by whom and on what date and time.

How does it work?

SPA Microsystems have joined forces with a provider of SMS text messages and we have built code into Aspasia that makes automatic text messaging simple.

Aspasia is an Internet based application which means that the moment an SMS is sent from the software it is immediately received by our partner SMS service provider and delivered to the recipient's mobile phone - the whole process takes just seconds.

Within Aspasia's configuration it is also possible to create default messages which are automatically modified with the appropriate property details. This means that SMS text messages can be sent without any typing at all. Even the message originator's name and telephone number can be automatically included in the message body.

Costs

SMS text messages cost 10p each. There are no set up charges, no fiddling around buying blocks of pre-paid tokens or any other mechanism designed to make life complicated.

You simply arrange an account over the telephone with the SMS service provider who will then invoice you monthly in arrears for the cost of the messages you have sent in any one month.

All messages sent from Aspasia contain your personal ID and password at a branch level which ensures that there is no confusion over charges.

You can stop using SMS messaging at any time without penalty.
